What is Sunday morning like?

Just inside the entrance, you’ll see the Welcome Center on your right. Our team would love to answer any questions and help you feel at home. Many people wear name tags, and we have simple guest name tags available if you’d like one.

The Worship Service

Our service is best described as “friendly traditional.”

  • You’ll receive a bulletin as you enter the sanctuary outlining the order of worship.

  • Some portions are read together as a congregation, and those words are also displayed on the screen at the front.

  • Sit wherever you’re comfortable—people are glad to share a pew.

  • Our music is typically led by piano and organ, with congregational hymns at the heart of worship. On several Sundays throughout the year, we also enjoy special music—such as guitar, vocal solos, or a full band.

The service begins with a few announcements, usually shared by our Lay Leader. Early in the service, a child often brings a microphone around for anyone who would like to share a prayer request.

At one point, the pastor invites everyone to greet their neighbors. This is a joyful, informal time where many step out of their pews to say hello. You may hear someone say, “Peace be with you.” When the music resumes, that’s the cue to return to your seat as we continue in prayer and worship.

What about my kids?

Children are a vibrant and valued part of our worship every single week! We don’t just make room for them—we celebrate them. Their voices, energy, and faith matter here.

There are some special activities and opportunities designed just for our children to grow, learn, and experience God in meaningful ways here.

What Should I Wear?

We’re a varied group! You’ll see everything from suits and dresses to business casual and jeans with t-shirts. Come as you are. There’s no dress code—just be yourself.

How Do I Get Connected?

We’d love to help you move from visiting to belonging. Here are a few great ways:

1. Meet Pastor Sung

Spending time with Pastor Sung is one of the best first steps. He’ll gladly help you find areas that match your interests and gifts.

2. A Member Will Connect You During the Week

If you fill out a Connect Card, it gives us a simple way to follow up and welcome you personally.

One of our members will reach out during the week to say hello, answer any questions you may have, and help you learn about opportunities as they come up. Their goal isn’t to overwhelm or pressure you—just to serve as a friendly guide as you begin getting to know our church family.

We genuinely want to help you feel informed, comfortable, and connected.

3. Join a Group

Gathering together is one of the strongest ways to build relationships and grow spiritually. We have several options, and we'll be happy to discuss the opportunities with you. If you’re free during the week, join the group that meets Thursdays at 8:30 a.m. at Hector's of Nokesville. They’re known for warmly welcoming newcomers.

4. Monthly Fellowship Dinners

These well-attended (and delicious!) gatherings are a relaxed way to meet people and build friendships.

5. Serve Together with us

Every few weeks we have a mission project that helps our neighbors. For example, quarterly we gather to make up backpacks with food items to go home with school children who might not have meals on the weekends. You will find lots of opportunities to serve with us.

6. Small Groups

Our small groups are called "Mission Outpost Families"—a small, often geographically based group that supports one another, studies scriptures at times, and finds meaningful ways to serve neighbors together. This small group system is based on Jesus with his disciples and also John Wesley's "class" groups who loved each other deeply, encouraged each other to grow in faith, and invited many in their communities to journey with them as they followed Jesus.

Where do I park?

There is abundant parking and you will not have an issue. As you enter the main drive going past the church, you will notice the front white doors. Please note: Our parking lot is monitored for security purposes.
