God's Plan for Us

“But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal” (Matthew 6:20, NRSV).

I’ve been meeting with our church leaders to learn where their hearts are and what they discern God is calling us to do, as we get ready for the next three years of ministry. I often left the meeting feeling honored and grateful for the amazing opportunity to serve the Lord with His faithful servants. Over the past three years, God has graciously sent us His servants, whom I call “spiritual special forces.” When God has blessed us with His servants who are willing to go the extra mile for the kingdom movement, God must have a special plan and purpose for our church family. Our assignment is to turn on our spiritual concentration to discern the will of God so that we may fully utilize our gifts, talents, and resources to maximize the impact of our collective efforts. I am excited to see what God has in store for us. 

We are blessed to have our church family, who is serious about learning the word of God, genuine in their relationships with one another, and active in missions. We will continue to enjoy and celebrate each other as we try to provide meaningful ministries for our current members. At the same time, we will keep in mind the need to lay a strong spiritual foundation to raise up a new generation of faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. Inviting families with young children and youth is something only God can do through us. Shall we be on our knees with our hands lifted up, praying for God’s mighty work in our midst? This Saturday, August 1, we will have Vacation Bible School. We pray for God’s blessings upon all the children and volunteers as they will be bathed in the word of God and filled with joy and laughter in the house of the Lord. I am deeply thankful for our volunteers and leaders who serve the Lord by serving God’s precious children through this special annual event. 

This summer, we are invited to practice the spiritual disciplines as we desire to go deep in our spiritual walk. Last Sunday, we explored why we want to fast.
