Dear Nokesville church family and friends,

“But as for me, my prayer is to you, O Lord. At an acceptable time, O God, in the abundance of your steadfast love, answer me” (Psalm 69:13, NRSV).

We had a joyful Easter celebration last Sunday as we gathered to honor our risen Lord Jesus Christ. Craig and Cindy graciously opened and offered their farm for our Sunrise Service. Despite our initial worries about cloudy weather, we were blessed to witness a stunning sunrise on Easter Sunday morning, which was a special gift from God. In the morning service, we were excited to see several kids who brought joy to our hearts as we worshipped our living God passionately. The sanctuary was adorned with the beautiful lilies dedicated in honor and memory of our loved ones, and the living cross, prepared by Craig and Debbie, was a special way of celebrating the power and joy of our Lord’s resurrection. Following the service, our children enjoyed the Easter Egg Hunt. I would like to express my deep gratitude to all our church members and leaders for their sincere efforts to serve and glorify the Lord. We give thanks and praise to the Lord who took our sins in his own body, suffered and died on the cross in our stead and on our behalf for the forgiveness of our sins once for all, and the third day rose from the dead. He is risen, indeed. Hallelujah!

We completed the forty-day Lenten journey, studying the book Experiencing God. Now is the time to turn on our spiritual concentration and watch to see what God does next. One of the important lessons we’ve learned is that after we pray, we need to watch what happens next to see whether it is God’s answer to our prayer. We’ve been praying together throughout Lent, and now we are prayerfully watching to see what happens. When we see or sense God’s activity around us, we will connect what we’ve been praying for with what happens next to see where God is leading us. If God speaks to you or reveals His will to you, we expect you to share your spiritual discernment with us, especially with me, out of your love for your church family. Waiting on God is a joyful time because we are excited to see what God has in store for us. Surely, the Lord will answer our prayers at an acceptable time.

Last Sunday, as we celebrated Easter, we explored why the resurrection of our Lord matters. You can watch it at Sermons | Nokesville Methodist Church – Bible Teaching in Nokesville VA. This Sunday, April 12, we will explore whether there is only one true way (John 14:1-7; Acts 4:12; Exodus 3:13-15). Also, the Jesus Loves Us Puppets will welcome children. Come and see! I hope to see you all soon on the Lord’s day.
